Common Carder bee

Finally it is warming up and slowly the bee activity is increasing. Today a Common carder bee (Bombus pascuorum) was feeding in a daffodil flower. Yesterday there were other bees feeding from the pollen of one of the cultivated willows. They were too high in the tree to identify.

About Murtagh's Meadow

As an ecologist I have always had an interest in nature. I love gardening and would spend all day outdoors if I could. I also enjoy taking photographs and writing. I live in the west of Ireland with my young family.
