Rescheduling Summer

Looking around the hedgerows, hardly any sign yet of the typical  high summer browsing flowers – scabious, knapweed, bird’s foot trefoil, St  John’s wort, meadowsweet.

So this week’s observation walk has to be postponed till after the August break – see Events section

There should still be plenty to see later in the season.

This is where the cultivated plants come into their own: with a range of varieties which can extend their foraging seasons, covering for gaps in availability of their native relatives. More on that later.
